A Note from the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Science Sunday, the flagship publication of The Verdant Well.

I’m so glad you are here!

I created The Verdant Well with a simple mission: to help women in midlife feel informed, heard and confident as they navigate one of the most transformative seasons of life through evidence-based nutrition, wellness education and practical lifestyle strategies.

As a Registered Dietitian, health educator, breast cancer survivor and a woman navigating midlife herself, I understand this season of life can feel both empowering and overwhelming. I have experienced firsthand the questions, uncertainty and changes that come with protecting your health while balancing career, family, aging parents and life’s many demands. Those experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping women find clarity through credible science, practical strategies and compassionate guidance.

Throughout my career, I’ve met countless women in midlife who feel unheard, whose symptoms are dismissed as “just getting older” or who leave healthcare appointments with more questions than answers. Whether they’re experiencing brain fog, sleep disturbances, weight changes, hot flashes, mood changes or simply don’t feel like themselves anymore, many women are searching for someone who will listen and for information they can trust.

I believe women deserve better.

Women deserve to be heard. They deserve evidence-based answers. They deserve partners who help them understand what’s happening in their bodies and support them in making confident, informed decisions that are right for them.

Science Sunday was created to bridge that gap by translating the latest research into practical, science-backed strategies that help women understand their changing bodies, advocate for their health and embrace midlife with confidence, clarity and hope.

Because no woman should have to navigate midlife alone.

We are in this together.

Rooted in Science. Growing in Strength.
